About Me

Hey everyone, I'm Kayla, a 21-year-old who loves Jesus and all things birth-related. I lived in the Philippines for 18 months and absolutely loved living cross-culturally and seeing how God was using midwifery to open my eyes to His faithfulness. I currently reside in the Pacific Northwest, where I continue on in my schooling and learning clinical skills while praying about the next step and where God will lead me once I graduate. My goal is to become a missionary midwife in a country where midwifery care is limited and provide much-needed midwifery care in the name of Jesus. I love photography, my large family, spending quality time with friends, and anything chocolate.

How I Started

After graduating high school in 2018, I moved to Tabuk, Philippines to pursue my love of midwifery.  I am attending National College of Midwifery with the intent to become a certified professional midwife and to share the gospel with the women and families who come through the clinic.

My passion for midwifery and missionary work came after I spent the summer of 2016 in Zambia, Africa doing medical work. I saw a lot of women come through the clinics with babies, and I heard countless stories of women or babies who died during childbirth. I was able to see the need for Christian missionaries and adequate healthcare.

In 2016 I was able to witness the birth of a friend's 7th baby, and I realized that I want to dedicate my life to helping women overseas who don't have access to proper medical treatments, equipment, or sanitation like she did. I want to join with other midwives and health professionals to bring the maternal and infant mortality rate down in developing countries, all while sharing the Gospel.

Why is midwifery important?

How can you help?

Financial Needs

I am looking for people who are willing to financially invest monthly, or give one-time donations. The money raised will go towards helping me reach my goal of becoming a missionary midwife and helping share the gospel in third-world countries.

Your donation could impact the life of a mother and her baby, along with families and their  communities.
